He even goes farther and opines possibly the nation. Really Seth?

Harangody.

I have no opinion on Harangody’s pro potential (Seth seems to think that he is being unfairly overlooked by the pros) but, I will say that I am fully prepared to hear all about the fabulousness of Luke Harangody this year. Personally, I find him kind of doughy or something, and he doesn’t exactly scream All-American to me, but he did put up some pretty impressive numbers last year and that’s pretty hard to argue with. He will surely be on the "watch" list of every accolade (Naismith, Wooden, etc.) out there.

Oh, and not defend Seth Davis (he’s not my all-time favorite writer, either) but in regards to Harangody being the best player in the nation, I think what he actually wrote was that "he was the leading vote-getter for the Associated Press’ preseason All-America team, which means he’s considered to be essentially the best player in America". : )

Harangody ...

…. is a really good college basketball player. I think he is arguably the best in the Big East, and purely as a college player, I think he may be able to make the case that he is the best anywhere.

What will happen after college is anyone’s guess.

He can be the best in the Big East

all the way to the pros. That is fine with me. But the best anywhere? Do we have to think that is going out of Kentucky? LOL :-)

Its ok,

I don’t really like Harangody all that much, either. He reminds me of Biff, you know, from the Back to the Future movies. I think it has to do with the hair maybe. Yeah, it’s a sticking point for me and I just can’t seem to get past it. : )

But, unfortunately, my not liking him doesn’t mean that he isn’t any good. He is.

I know BSC, he is good,

it just seems so wrong to think such thoughts concerning player of the year. He reminds me of Biff too. I kept thinking there was someone, but hadn’t put my finger on it. :-)

I think writers latch on to

players like Harangody who are extremely talented, but play long enough to exhaust their eligibility. It’s good for the sport. I.e. Hansbrough.
