Tubby Smith lost his Dad to Alzheimers Disease recently.

His Dad hadn't recognized him in 5 or 6 years.

Good article

Tubby is a class act, and always will be.
As time passes, UK fans will reflect back on Tubby , much like they reflect back on Joe B. Hall.

IMO

Joe B Hall "Saved" UK Basketball In The Mid 1960's

He instituted a national recruiting program in 1965 and a physical conditioning program in 1969 that put UK on track to restore its national luster in the 1970’s.

He is the only college basketball coach to succeed a true legend and do well.

Great read.

And what a huge upset by Minnesota last night of Butler, even with three important backups missing from Minnesota.

Coach Smith is a terrific guy, and I have boundless affection for him.

Butler Is A Bit Overrated (I Think) But Still A Good Team

Minnesota is deep even without the 3 players who are suspended.

The Portland game tonight will be tougher than many expect. Portland has defeated UCLA and Oregon already this season.

To a deserving family...

As a hospice nurse practitioner, and Kentucky fan, I feel deeply for Orlando (Tubby) and his family. Through all the grief and classless acts that man went through, he still held himself as a man of dignity, faith, and pride in the school that he worked for. Alzheimer’s is a terrible disease for a family to endure.

I'm big, I'm all blue, and I am Stu.

Bless

him and his family. That disease is awful. It robs dignity of those it affects. I pray that they find a cure for this awful disease.

TUBBY!!!

I will always love and respect Tubby Smith, I am very sorry he and his family had to endure such a horrible disease and then the loss of his father!!!
