DeAndre Liggins, Where is He?

Hello All,

You all may have already talked about this on here, but I have been away for a while.  I was just wondering if anyone knew what the deal is with DeAndre Liggins?  I didn't see him in any of the exhibition games and he didn't get any playing time again tonight.  Is he injured or does he just not fit what Kentucky needs right now?  I understand that there isn't much playing time to go around, but I expected to see him at least for about 5 minutes or so per game.  Any thoughts on this?

Liggins Disappearance?

I’ve been doing some digging on the net and it seems as though it is some disciplinary issue that no one is talking about. Anybody have any clues as to what it may be and when his punishment will be over?

Liggins Could Play Soon

From WKYT-TV:

Liggins could be back for Miami (OH)

When the basketball Cats take the floor against Miami on Monday night, DeAndre Liggins could see his first action of the year. Speculation has swirled as to why the sophomore hasn’t played in either of UK’s two exhibition games or in the season opener.

A source has told me that Liggins has been sitting for a violation of team rules. Coach John Calipari has dodged the question about Liggins’ absence, saying only that he will never throw his players under the bus and that he prefers to discuss those who’ve played in games.

Liggins didn’t even participate in warm-up drills prior to the Cats’ game with Morehead State.

Liggins’ short career at UK has been star crossed at best. Coming out of Findley Prep in Las Vegas, Liggins was rated one of the nation’s best guards, given his size (6-feet-6) and ability to play the point. Ironically, it was in Vegas that Liggins refused to enter the lineup for then-coach Billy Gillispie.

Media's lack of coverage is odd

Maybe, because this team has so many other story lines, the press went along. It is still weird.
Lord knows I am not fishing for a scandal, I just find it odd that the media did not pursue it.

Anybody else find this curious?

Perhaps we should add this to the list of things impressive about Cal. He wanted the focus on the court.

I’ve said this before, I wish Liggins all the best.

I'm not sure anyone expected him to play meaningful minutes anyways

So playing zero minutes really isn’t a stretch.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

I think the press asked

and accepted Cal’s answer. They probably didn’t want to push Cal on this issue and ruin their relationship with him for now.

The rumor is off the court issues

But, just a rumor….FWIW

First time I shot her, shot her in the side.
Hard to watch her suffer, but with the second shot she died...

If Wall is a one and done, redshirting D. Liggins would make a lot of sense
