The Worth of Tickets

Who would trade their season football tickets for a ticket to the Louisville and North Carolina Basketball Games?

Star-divide

I just was thinking about the value of the basketball tickets.  All those have's and the have nots. I'm amongst the 'haves' on this and consider myself quite lucky.

But to those souls who only get to look at the Cats on the television, I wonder what it would be worth to actually see the Cats and its at least second ranked program, in person.

Those two games for a World Series Game Seven Ticket? That would be extremely nice. Would you trade it for the season tickets in football?

The Sweet Sixteen Tournament tickets?

A Kentucky Derby Box ticket?

This might not be the best year to ask this question....

but to be honest, I guess it depends on where the Bball tickets were….put me behind the bench for the UK-NC game and let me hear Cal pull off coaching tht group to a win like that, and yeah, I would give up 6 or 7 football games for that….

Remember, we're having fun now!!!

ebay has 4 pages of tickets

for Big Blue Madness. The highest priced listing is at $1200 for two tickets.
Here is a link if you are interested…. Big Blue Madness tickets on ebay.

I don’t see any for trade on ebay, but craig’s list has some also….. Big Blue Madness tickets on craigslist.

Evidently there is always a market for tickets to see UK basketball, even a practice.
So I am guessing someone would trade their season football tickets. I wouldn’t.

What about final four tickets before the season starts.

The two games you mention are guarantees, the final four is not.

Any

I would trade any UK football tickets for any UK basketball tickets.

It is not worth an intelligent man’s time to be in the majority. By definition, there are already enough people to do that.

I am one of the souls

attends games only rarely, and you know, maybe it’s weird, but I really don’t mind. IMO, Basketball as a sport is exceptionally well-served by television viewing (as opposed to baseball, which really really isn’t). It is GREAT to go and all, don’t get me wrong, tv works great too (especially considering it is FREE to watch on tv—there’s a recession going on, people!). Replays ,excellent camera angles, explanations from the announcers, making fun of the announcers…all while sitting on your couch wearing/yelling/eating/DRINKING whatever you want…not so bad. Also, if it is a very close and/or very important game, I get soooo nervous and tense, and prefer to be in the privacy of my own home : ) There’s no doubt there’s a certain energy that comes from being in the huge crowd doing the cheers and such that makes attending games special, but it’s not necessary to the game experience. Trust me, there are TONS of hard core fans who have NEVER been to Rupp—not everyone has the money or the leisure time to do it. Maybe it is different for those who are from the Lex area. I grew up and live in KY, but many hours away from Lexington. Growing up, going to games was a special-occasion treat that happened once every couple of seasons (and then, it was to a scrub team game in the upper level). When I was in grad school at UK is the only time I’ve been to many games and had good seats, and while it’s an awesome experience, as long as they’re still showing them on television, it’s not something I’d necessarily drop hundreds of dollars on or anything : )

I do LOVE to go to NCAA tourney games though. Always get tickets to those when they come to Nashville—and in the future, when they’re likely be in Louisville’s new arena.
