Predict W Total For 2010 Cats

15 OOC games - 13 W.

Possible L to UConn and UNC.

16 SEC games - 14 W.

Possible L in 2 road games.

3 SECT games - 3 W.

Cats are SECT champs!

4 NCAA games - 3 W.

Maybe more but...

So I predict 33 W.

What say ye? 30 W would be a darn good year but I want (and think UK will get) more.

I keep typing more words so I get to the 75 word minimum, sorry.

FOOTBALL SEASON IS STILL GOING ON!

I don’t think we’ll lose a game.
Heck, why even play in the regular season? Haven’’t we got a pass to the final four?
Sorry, but its still football season and I’ll concern myself with basketball later.

the basketball season starts NEXT WEEK

At what point will it be okay with you for people to discuss it? : )

by blue kentucky girl on Oct 30, 2009 11:53 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Now

Discussing it is wonderful. We should, but not make football a fifth class program here.

Fifth Class?

… Since the late 70s, Kentucky has always been a fifth class program in the SEC. It’s the delusion of optimistic fans that continue the myth it’s been otherwise.

We haven’t beaten Tennessee in almost 30 FREAKING YEARS!

Whew, this is tough

Ok, I’m going to start by assuming UK will win the SECT and NCAA tourney :)

That’s 40 games available by my count. (15 OOC, 16 SEC, 3 SECT, 6 NCAA)

My pick is 35-5. Pure unabashed delusion, but at least I can see it.

Can't pick them to lose ever

I never realistically look at a game as a loss until after it happens so it is more than difficult for me to try this. How about a different tactic though. Explain why UNC or UConn could realistically expect to beat us. UNC easily has as many or more question marks (most pointedly at lead guard) as UK does. UConn I just can’t see it either. We are more likely to have an off night and lose to someone we arent supposed to as we are to lose a big game. I see 1/12, 1/26, 2/16, 2/20 and 2/27 as the biggest threats on our schedule at this point. Road SEC games can be difficult. I believe they will protect Rupp much better than the past coach did. Wish the SEC tourney was in Catlanta instead of Nashville. Love the NCAA championship being in Indiannapolis. I look at that as fate somehow.

Well,

we are only 12 wins away from 2000.

Louisville is our 17th opponent for the season. No offense, but in looking at our schedule and our opponents before Louisville, we should realistically have 12 wins and reach 2000 well before January 2nd, 2010. ; )

That works for me just fine. :-)

that’s a double Yay…LOL…We are all going to Great Wolf Lodge for Christmas (instead of presents) and I will not be away on either of those dates, so I am ready for number 2000, it appears :-)

Oh, Geez, I hate to disagree with a lady,

but the way I read our schedule, UL is our 15th game. Still your point is valid, we should have 2000 before then.

Incidentally, UNC doesn’t play their sixteenth game till 1/10 against VA Tech, so even if the unthinkable should happen and we should lose a game or two :-)) we can still beat them to the magic number. When that happens, it will be a source of great pleasure to me to make “the call” to my Tarheel son (Where did I go wrong??).

How dare you!! (kidding, of course)..... : )

You know what? I counted the exhibition games, too, and they don’t count, do they? Silly me. But, yes, realistically speaking (unless all hell breaks loose and something catastrophic happens) we should still have 12 wins under our belt by the time we face Louisville.

Also, I’m so sorry to hear about your son. You do all you can for them, give them the best, try to raise them right, and that’s the thanks you get. Don’t worry, I won’t hold it against you and you should know that his decision in no way reflects negatively on your skills as a parent. I’m sure you did a great job. Sometimes they just won’t listen to reason. : )

Thanks for the comfort.

He does have three really cute kids, though!! If my wife and I had known how much fun grandkids were, we’d have had them first.

Yeah, I think you counted the exhibition games.

If we win our first twelve, win 2000 comes on 12/21/09 against Drexel.

If we lose one (most likely either UNC or UCONN), it comes 12/23/2009 against Long Beach State.

If we lose two (most likely both UNC and UNCONN), it comes 12/29/2009 against Hartford.

If we somehow lose three by that point (most likely UNC, UCONN, and then either the final of the Cancun tournament OR Indiana), then 2000 comes 01/02/2010 against Louisville.

I'm still reeling from the last few years of UK BBall

and I follow the Reds and Bengals. My sports pessimism has been high for a while. I’ll forgo a wins prediction until the sports depression medication kicks in.

In this order, my hopes for this season.
1. UK is first to 2000 and the WHOLE darned WORLD…, knows it!
2. Beat UNC
3. Then Louisville
4. A Final Four Appearance
5. Championship #8.
6. The NCAA decides to look at Duke for violations previously ignored, b/c everybody likes Mike.
7. Peace in our time.

No matter where you're at, there you are

First To 500 W - 1000 W - 1500 W (Milestones)

http://www.bigbluehistory.net/bb/ncaatrends.html UK was first to 500 W.

I think UK edged Kansas (narrowly) to become first to 1000 W.

But UNC edged UK to become first to 1500 W.

I think UK gets to 2000 W milestone first.

34...

I think we’ll lost to UNC…
So of the OOC schedule I see 15 out of 16

In the SEC we’ll trip up three times…
13 out of 16

We’ll sweep the SEC Championship
3 out of 3

Lose in the Elite Eight matchup
3 wins..

34 Total, and I’ll be happy with just making the it through the first weekend. I realize the team we have, but it will be nice just to be thought of again, the production will come soon enough.

Wins rolling in

I’m probably too optimistic, but here are my picks:
13 OOC + 15 SEC + 3 SEC T + 4 NCAA T = 35 Wins
I’ll be happy with 32 W’s and an elite 8 finish, though. We might stumble early, but we should really rack up the SEC this year once the guys get used to the system. Patterson and Wall are just too spectacular, the rest of the starting five is great, and we have some very good reserves.

14 OOC W
14 SEC W
3 SECT W
4 NCAA W

Total WINS = 35

I hate to upset everybody but,

13-2 OC
12-4 SEC
2-1 SEC Tourney, Miss. St wins
3-1 NCAA
30-8 record
I just don’t think we have good enough shooters this year.
