Blue Happiness... See Me Doing the Happy Dance?

For all of us who struggle to watch our Cats long distance ... I am drowning in A Sea of Blue happiness. Two weeks ago I changed my television service. Dropped my local cable provider, had my house and pool house rewired... 2 installers started at 10 am and did not leave until 8 that night.

But I now have Dish in virtually every room and it looks like seamless Cat coverage. When I could watch the ULM football game Saturday, my hopes soared for basketball possibilities. And tonight I am watching the Blue & White game live. Not on my computer; not on my phone; not delayed; but a scrimmage game "LIVE" despite the fact that I am here in the heart of Gator country!

Considering that I used to drive to the highest hill (hills can be hard to find in Florida) and sit in my car to listen to Kentucky games on the radio, and that I once listened to an entire game over the phone by making my mother (in Kentucky) sit her phone next to her radio... words cannot describe how happy I am with this coverage.

Only you all would understand...

Cat Woman,

I also live in Florida (Lakeland) and have been able to watch all of UK’s games and tonights scrimmage on my brighthouse cable. It is great to think we can live in FL and watch a UK scrimmage, absolutely incredible. Take care and enjoy.

so, I had all this work done for nothing?

I never got all these games on Brighthouse! And if there was a Tampa Bay hockey game or an Orlando Magic game at the same time, I certainly didn’t see Kentucky. Have you always been able to see all this on Brighthouse?

Ha...

I am sure that you did not do it for NOTHING, but I am outside Orlando and watched the game on Brighthouse on Channel 185 — Fox College Sports – Atlantic … I had to call and add the Fox College Sports Channels for $3.99 monthly.

Now I am getting the Miss State game on Sunsports Saturday (formerly Sunshine) but to be honest am not sure about the exhibition on Monday Night. I saw commercials for it, but that FCS Atlantic has a football game scheduled for Monday night. Also, hopefully, I can catch the EKU as well on Brighthouse. That may be tricky and a PPV game

AllBLUECAT said yesterday

that fox south was carrying the scrimmage on an alternate station. Sure enough I checked all of my channels and it was on channel 800. It was only 3.99 a month so I pushed the button and here it came. I couldn’t believe it. I had been getting all of the football games before on at least ESPNU. On brighthouse, you have to have the upgraded package to get ESPNU but it isn’t much. Don’t tell your husband what you did wasn’t needed. Well look at the bright side, you are good to go now. One other thing, when you get that type of service on brighthouse, it is good on all of the boxes in your home. Have fun watching.

HUMMM

I think I have talked to every living human at BH over the last few seasons, some politely and some not so politely, and no one has ever been able to get me good KY game coverage. And I think I was paying for every sports add-on they offered. Also, I had jacks that didn’t work, and they swore they could not fix them, so I was pretty pleased that Dish had no problem running new lines and putting in new jacks as part of the free install. We only set up 6 tv’s so it is not quite “all over” the house, but good enough and channels and packages are good on all tvs, so I am pretty happy. More stations, more sports, better reception, and cheaper… works for me.

But then, I was ready to launch my own satellite rather than miss any of the games this year.

let me know how that works when it rains ...

I have wanted to pull the cable plug for a while in Florida but too many friends tell me they lose service on satellite whenever it rains .. which as you know in Florida is everyday during the summer

will do, but in the past

I have had direct satellite on 2 occasions and only twice in a cumulative10 years lost service due to weather—that was much better than the problems I had with bh over the past 5 years. Only went to bh because we had a ton of ’04 hurricane(s) damage and repairs turned into renovations and we actually lived in our pool house for a long time in the process. My direct dish was smashed and doing the bh cable thing was a fast temp fix, that turned into five years. (yes, we actually drug the renovation thing on that long).

In going back to satellite, I picked dish over direct because of the price/package/ability to combine it with my home phone service. Flag me down in a few months, I will give you my honest opinion of the how the change turned out. Just the fact that dish switched my whole complicated house (I have a funny layout) to the RG6 cable at no charge and bh had refused to do this (told me to hire an electrician and call them back), that carried a lot of weight with me.

The exhibition games and the EKU game

I can’t find them anywhere on Brighthouse. Anyone having any luck?
