Big Blue Hoops
OMG - The KY.Girls were awesome - in 1973 - I quit cheer leading to play basketball because the GOV mandated that high school provided a program for girls to play- and my Podunk High school in KY offered the program. I did not realize how farm we had come until tonight when I watched Big Blue Madness...go girls - Go Cats and Go Calapari.
John 0 I would have sent you something on Twitter - but it's like a big corporation - I can'tr find you really...GO coach Mitchell!!

Girls
I’m looking forward to watching the girls play this season. Mitchell has brought in some quality players, which should make this team dangerous.

Some good stuff going around
the women’s program. I am excited to see them kick butt in the SEC! I think it would be great for Coach Mitchell to see some success this season.

I definitely can appreciate it.
My grandmother played for the Ashland Kittens in high school back in the 20s, and one of her favorite memories was a trip to Lexington to play in the state tournament.
If I remember the story correctly, it was during her high school career that the women’s basketball rules changed to allow them to run/dribble. When she started, women were allowed one or two steps to pass or shoot, but no dribbling/moving with the ball. I suppose it was un-ladylike to run and sweat.

Or it could have been the 30s. That's probably more accurate.
