Blogpoll Ballot: Week 6

A Sea of Blue's Week 6 Blogpoll ballot (a bit belated due to a heavy workload today) is available for your perusal after the jump, along with my notes.

Star-divide

RankTeamDelta
1 Alabama
2 Florida
3 Texas
4 Virginia Tech 1
5 Southern Cal 1
6 Boise State 3
7 Cincinnati 1
8 Iowa 1
9 Ohio State 4
10 Oregon
11 Miami (Florida)
12 TCU
13 LSU 9
14 Nebraska 9
15 Penn State 3
16 South Florida 9
17 South Carolina 2
18 Kansas 2
19 Georgia Tech 3
20 Oklahoma State 5
21 Brigham Young 4
22 Oklahoma 1
23 Houston
24 Pittsburgh
25 Auburn 11
Last week's ballot

Dropped Out: Missouri (#16), Wisconsin (#24).

Notes:
  • Alabama just looks awesome to me.
  • Virginia Tech?  Yeah, they're for real.
  • Auburn sucked so bad against Arkansas, I spent 10 minutes trying to drop them out.  Unfortunately, I just couldn't
  • Still not a believer in Cincinnati, but South Florida looms.  If the Bearcats beat USF, I'll be buying me some UC stock.
  • I believe USF is going to wind up in the top ten.
  • Texas, through no fault of their own, falls to third.
  • I am not buying Iowa.  Not yet.  If they beat Wisconsin at their place, I may be a little more convinced.
  • Is Georgia Tech or Miami better? If GT beats VT in Blacksburgh, I guess we'll know.

Not much to argue with there Tru

the jump by Ohio State kinda surprised me, didnt think you were that impressed with them.

You call it, Boise State, Cincy, or South Florida…….who comes closest to playing in a Nat’l Championship game??

Eh.

Most of my rankings are done automatically by the computer. A few it comes up with I don’t agree with, but OSU beat a good Wisconsin team and looks like a team that is improving.

Well ...

Not really. His lawyer got 260K paid by the university, plus the university paid for the arbitration.

Nothing to watch in the DUI case. It won’t get dropped or reduced. He may beat it, but there is nothing to see here. Move along. :-)

For now

I’d put Iowa above Boise and Cinn. They’ve beat good teams – recently. I wouldn’t wait to put them higher waiting on future opponents (Wisc, et al) they’ve earned a higher spot for now.

Jumping South Florida and Nebraska 9 spots!?!? South Florida had a bye week and their last game was against mightty Syracuse. Guess we’ll see on Thursday. Nebraska maybe, maybe, somewhere in the 15-20. Their game against MIzzou was more a matter of Mizzou losing than Nebraska winning.

In USF's case ...

… I think it was more a decline by others than a jump by them. Ditto Nebraska. I’m not that sold on Nebraska, but I am a believer in USF. They’ll have a chance to prove it vs. Cincinnati.

I’m just not sold on Iowa, and I’m not even sold on the idea that they are better than Boise or even UC, although they have beaten a couple of good teams. But they could be deserving, and if they beat Wisconsin away this week, I’ll be impressed.

What's your take on Cincinnati after last night?

Overall, held up pretty well considering they handled USF with their starting QB getting injured. . .

BTW, watching USF’s freshman QB (thrown into the mix after their starter went down a few games back) made me think of Newton. I wonder if we’ll see the same – great ability, but also poor decision making.

I'm gonna be eating crow, I guess.

They certainly earned their spot. Good on ’em.
