Legion coming back??

PLEASE correct me if Im wrong, but I was browsing different blog posts, and read one that said that Alex  Legion is considering coming back to UK and that BCG was willing to let him.  I dont know if its true or not.  I thought it was a link of off the SI website, but when I went back to confirm it, I couldnt find it.  The article stated that he was considering Michigan and Kentucky, but he wasnt happy at Illinois.  (Is he ever happy ??)

I'd Be Surprised At That

Legion is beginning to be a factor at Illinois.

By the time he gets here ...

… he will be 30 years old. I’ve never heard of a player transferring away and then transferring back and sitting out two years in residence.

Not gonna happen, in my opinion.

Sounds pretty far fetched

Maybe his Mother had a vision

Momstradomus

Someone on this site coined that phrase last season, quip of the year.

Can you even do that and retain eligibility?

Never mind the transferring back part… can you transfer, sit out a redshirt year, and then transfer somewhere else and get another redshirt year?

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

No.

You have five years to play four. He would have to spend another year in residence, and lose a year of eligibility.

It makes no sense.

Let me clarify.

The year in residence if he transfered to UK would count against his eligibility. He has played now two semesters (one at UK, one at Illinois) and sat out a year at Illinois, which counts as his “red shirt” year. He therefore has three years left, and if he transfers to UK, he would have to sit out one year and take the court as a junior, eligibility-wise.

Actually He's Burned 2 Years Of Eligibility

Even 1 second of PT burns a year (unless injured).

He would have 2 years more to play somewhere else.

I thought it was by semester ...

… but you may be right. Either way, my point is the same. It makes no sense.

We Agree On That

It makes little sense.

But he could (if desired) sit out all next year and play 2 years somewhere else (2011 and 2012).

You get 5 years to play 4. He’s played 2 in 2 (so far).

Question

What do Ian Hunter and Great White have in common.

Not happening.

Changing how you think will change what you think.
