It may be very premature....

but as of now I am not excited about these players at all. I cerainly hope they become excellent players for UK but I have my doubts. Of course, I hope I am wrong.

I hope your wrong too...

…But I agree… However, they are both still young, so there’s plenty of time for improvement…

Steelers fan 1st! UK is my 2nd love.

I'm excited about Zollo.... not real high on Euton though.

I think Vinny Zollo has a chance to be a really good player. He’s 6’8 and may grow to 6’10. He has really long arms, he has a great motor, he can shoot the three and he plays good D. He does need to get stronger, especially in his upper body, but he’s only a sophomore so that will come.

Potential 7-Footer

Or so I have read (about him).

He was a longtime UK camper, even under Tubby.

Gillispie Likes A Mix Of Stars And Role Players

Some schools recruit a bench full of stars. Duke, UNC to name two.

Others recruit a mixture of both. Connecticut, UCLA, Florida are some of those.

That works great

As long as you get one or two major stars in each class to complement them. We’ve had more discussions than I care to count on this site about what happens when you miss on those stars.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Except For 1992

That’s how Pitino recruited.

90 Mash. 91 nobody. 92 lots (to make up for 91). 93 Shep. 94 Walker. 95 Mercer, Turner. Sign 1 or 2 stars per class and complementary guys for the rest.

And Since Pitino, Too

1998 Tay. 1999 Bogans. 2000 Parker (DNWO). 2001 Hayes. 2002 Kaz. 2003 nobody. 2004 Rondo, Crawford, Morris. 2005 nobody. 2006 Meeks. 2007 Pattterson. 2008 remains to be seen who / if.
