New members here
I noticed that too especially after the LV tourney and again in the last several weeks. It’s always a compliment to this site to get new people here. Hope they will speak up and offer comments. I know I read this site for a few months before I joined. I knew it was the best for me :-)

Welcome
Allow me to belatedly welcome any and all new members.
As far as I’m concerned, the more the merrier, and please inform your like-minded fanatical friends of ASOB. I think you’ll find the site as informative and entertaining as any other sports blog, as well as absent the garbage you have to endure on many sites.
Once again, welcome and Go Cats!

No better place for rational dialogue.
Not everyone agrees here on everything but we do enjoy each other’s posts.

Huzzah for new members!
I still remember the days back when I first joined almost two years ago when live threads were lucky to see 20 comments.

Thanks for all your hard work, Tru.

Yes OGE
I know you haven’t been here that long…so glad you you are addicted as so many of us are :-)
I hope you will find this funny and not be offended in any way. When I saw your name…the first thing thing that came to my mind was “oldfarts” only because I have to include myself as one per my kids!
Glad to have you here.

And that does not mean I think you old like me...
To the contrary I think you are probably 30 years younger or more :-)

You're welcome.
You’ve done a great job, too. Thanks for reading and offering commentary.

I have
to say that this is a very well ran site. I have enjoyed it immensly. I love the fact that Tru and others don’t allow insults and stuff like that. I apperciate all of the hard work that they do.

Welcome With Caveat
Usually I am in accordance with the “more the merrier” attitude but that’s not always the case and particularly in the instance of opinion boards since they tend to become jejune with time and increased visits. New members please try to adhere to the standards that, I presume, attracted you in the first place. Tru, much gratitude for establishing and administering ASoB, I think your responsibility has grown with the numbers.

Thanks.
Fear not, our quality will not diminish. We have great members here, and as we have grown, this place has begun doing a great job of administering itself.
That is a wonderful thing to see.

Jejune
… therein lies exactly why this site was created in the first place. Find me another UK sports site where that word is used and I’ll find you a knowledgeable Louisville hoops fan.

Just saying hello.
Ive been a member now for some time, but still consider myself new! I always check in daily to read the truth about my cats. I moved to California for a few years and kind of lost touch with the BigBlue fans. But since moving back to the area I have had two sons. My oldest is named Lexington, and my youngest is named Cawood. Its just great to be able to raise both of them with greatest tradition in the world. They my be young, but they still yell “Go Big Blue”, as a father I couldnt be more proud.

Kids names...
Dad wanted to name me Goose… luckily mom won. I guess my brother got off lucky by being named Kyle!
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Congratulations, davw!
How exciting!
A March baby, huh? Having a March birthday myself, I can say that the month of "madness" is a wonder month to be born. : )
Good luck with the baby names and be sure to let us know what you choose!

I'm a March baby too!
The Cats actually are usually taking on Florida on or right around my birthday. I ask for tickets every year, but have not gotten them yet for that particular game. Oh well….maybe next year ;)

You want a little laugh? ; )
I have a bit of an interest in astrology, nothing too serious of course, it’s totally just for fun. Going on the time frame of the Florida game, I would guess that your birthday is at the beginning of March, right? About the first week or so?
I took the liberty of looking up that time frame in an astrology book that I have and that would make you a Pisces, right? All the signs in the book I have list dominant key words that are associated with the different sun signs. You want to hear something funny? Guess what the Pisces key words are? I BELIEVE. No kidding. How fitting is that.
This is one of your posts from a few days ago.
15-1 I say we lose to either Arkansas or South Carolina on the road. Hey – what can I say? I believe.
Wow. Totally crazy, huh? Again, it’s all in fun, but I just thought the whole "I BELIEVE" key words were so spot on for your incredibly bubbly and positive personality that I just wanted to share. : )
Oh, btw, chirop, if you are at all interested, and I think you are probably an Aries, your dominant key words are "I AM". ; )
by BigSkyCat on Jan 12, 2009 11:58 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I believe.
Wow. That’s wild!! I’m sure there are many more posts where I use those words as they have been my mantra in UK Basketball for as long as I can remember. That is really cool! Thanks!!

Aries is correct for me

Astrology
You are pretty good, mine should be an easy one.

Well,
I don’t know if Tru approves of this line of conversation or not and I realize that this topic is totally irrelevant to UK and astrology is basically pretty useless knowledge anyway, but I just can’t help myself from guessing. Besides, it would be rude of me not to respond, right? : )
Are you talking about your sign or the sign associated with your ASoB username? Maybe they are one in the same? Either way, I’ll take a wild guess and say Capricorn. ; )

I BELIEVE
you are incorrect ; ) Alot of new posters, and the number is only going to grow. The content quality of this blog is second to none, not to mention the insight and wit of Tru and Ken,and many posters.BTW sorry for the slight hijack Tru,sometimes a thread takes a life of it’s own.Back to topic.

Best wishes to your family
Some of these names offered are truly funny. Dang your suggestion seemed the most acceptable to the wife. If that won’t fly I doubt these others will :-)).

Although I don't consider myself new...
I began posting just a few short months ago. I stumbled upon ASoB last year and enjoyed reading the posts and articles. It wasn’t until the migration to the SBNation platform that I signed up. I was born and raised in Kentucky; growing up in Georgetown. I reluctantly moved out of state chasing a dream with hopes of returning and raising my family. Twenty some years later I find myself in lower Southwest Michigan with little chance of returning “home” on a permanent basis. I’m not bitter, I actually enjoy it here. Luckily for me I have Directv’s Full Court package and now a forum in which to share my passion, UK basketball.
Tru, you’ve got as first rate operation here. Keep up the good work!

Beginning with Bogan's Heros
JL Blue really had a different “slant” on being a UK site. I can remember reading Tru’s comments way back when and was very pleased with the adaptation to ASoB and then Tru’s promotion.
ASoB remained and remains the absolute best for REAL discussion. I love the rabid, circle the wagon’s attitude when a jack hole posts something brain dead or plain nasty.
I can think of a few folks in the past 6-8 months that were run off faster than…….I’ll stop there or this will hit 200 posts :-)
It feels like a family that should “almost” have a meet-up one of these days. I said ALMOST. I do really want to meet a few of you but I don’t know exactly why :-)
VIVA ASoB!!
