8. Mike Hartline's maturation: Let's face it, the Kentucky offense isn't nearly as explosive as we've become accustomed to the last few years. Much of that is Hartline settling into the position and gaining the trust of his coaches, not to mention the guys around him. He'll get better, but the Kentucky defense is good enough that the Wildcats don't need Hartline taking a lot of chances on offense. It's a nice setup for Hartline. He gets to grow as a quarterback and doesn't have the burden of carrying the team. That responsibility will belong to the defense.

What Low writes is true, for now ...

… but the defense carrying the team won’t work against the SEC elite.

I have to say that I am very impressed with Low. I had my doubts about a former UT beat writer covering the entire SEC, but he has shown that he is capable of being objective, and his knowledge of football is excellent.

I had ...

… exactly the same reservations as you did, but like you, I find him very impressive so far, and surprisingly objective.

I’m becoming a fan.

The last few years.......?

" Let’s face it, the Kentucky offense isn’t nearly as explosive as we’ve become accustomed to the last few years."

How about the last two years!

Folks sure forget the anemic offense three years ago. Folks sure forget how Woodson played his Soph year.

The offense will improve. We have the best “bunch” of running backs “EVER” at UK, the o-line showed some life against NSU, the receivers just need game experience, and the Quarterbacks are being brought along slowly. Two more games and an off-week before the SEC test! I think we will be ready.

It is finally a reality that UK can take the time to bring players along slowly………..we have never had that luxury in the past.

Really good point.

Before Woodson’s breakout in 2006, our offense was a serious joke.

We have so much more offensive talent now than pre-2006, it is not even really comparable. Our backs are solid, SEC-quality and improving. Our quarterback position is a little unsteady now, but it will get better — I expect to see Brooks go to something like a 2-headed quarterback, although he will never say as much.
