I told you this would happen. And it is. The KHSAA is dragging, delaying, obfuscating and trying to run out the clock.

They will fail. Act, or the legislature will act for you.

The more I hear about the KHSAA

The more I wonder how it ever even came to exist.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

They have ...

... an important purpose. Unfortunately, they basically patterned themselves after the NCAA with a presumption of guilt that punishes the players rather than the schools.

Purpose

I don’t deny their purpose for existing. I do question how they came about. Especially when I see quotes floating around from KHSAA members who claim they don’t report to the legislature at all and more quotes that basically flaunt judicial decisions. How did this presumably state run organization essentially get around the entire system of checks and balances that our government is based upon?

Yeah ...

... point taken.

I think every “oversight” group wants to be free from interference from the politicians, even though that is a practical impossibility.

Free from interference

Is an admirable goal… but there always has to be a healthy fear of the politicians calling you to task to keep things honest.

My Guess

Is that both will be ruled eligible at some point in 2008-09 HS season.

And I hope the Ky Legislature

Steps forward and tells them where to go with their ridiculous and unfounded rulings.

Different take

The way I read the article is that the Legislature is going to review some of the KHSAA policies, and then issue a finding on the stringency of some of those by-laws. This article is referring to a delay in that process.

I don’t read anything about Euton and Jackson’s appeal hearing response from DeVries being delayed.

That's right.

This is all about their by laws, and the problems therewith. Euton and Jackson are a symptom of that problem.
