Andre Woodson cut by the Giants

It has been reported on ESPN that Andre Woodson was cut by the Giants.  While I am sure he is disappointed, I believe that this is the best thing for him.  Now he can find a place where he may get a chance to compete for playing time.  As long as Eli is at the Giants, Andre would have never played.  Besides Eli, the Giants have Anthony Wright and David Carr as backups.  My guess is that he will get picked up by someone and probably be put on the practice squad.  Good luck Andre.

Chicago Bears

What a place for him huh? Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton?
I mean..even someone as bad as Hunter Cant"throw"well could play there. Woodson has proved he can play in an elite and respected NCAA conference, so why would he not be able to play in a rather weak NFC division?
diamond in the rough that boy is…

Hunter

That’s funny! My husband calls him Cant"aim"well. What a great name – so many possibilities!!!

Bears

As a huge huge Bears fan, I couldn’t believe they didn’t Woodson (or any QB), but now that he needs a team again, I really want him to come to Chicago. He’s got an arm, and doesn’t turn it over much, which just happens to be what the Bears need.

Bears

What a joy it would be to see a quarterback that I trust playing for da bears. Its been a time since we’ve had a good one huh? If Lovie doesn’t draft a quarterback in the 09 draft….things will get ugly.

I'm surprised.

I felt at the beginning of the ‘07 that Woodson would emerge as one of the top pro prospects in the ’08 draft. He played well for most of the season but did disappear in a few games. Now he’s cut as a 6th-round pick. Hopefully he re-emerges; he seems to have all the skills, just needs to put it all together.

Worried

There’s a million QB’s out there just like Woodson; borderline 3rd stringers who are just begging for a roster somewhere. I think he has the potential to be a lot more… I just don’t know if he’ll get the chance.

It sure is a long fall from the days when Kiper had him and Brohm listed at 1 and 2 on his draft board before last season started.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Woodson will

get picked up and lead a team soon. Give him a couple of seasons. He just needs the right team (NO BROWNS!!!!!) :)

Bears

Grossman was Super Bowl QB a couple years ago. Orton is decent but Woodson can be better than both.

Johnny Unitas and Brett Favre were both cut by their first NFL teams.

Woodson has been picked up be the practice squad for the Giants.

Hrmph

Better than nothing I suppose, and all the other teams already have their 3 QB’s chosen for their rosters.
