Coury...
Mark Coury, who started 29 games last season, is seeking a transfer, Gillispie confirmed. The walk-on from West Bloomfield, Mich., is hoping to find a school that will offer him a scholarship.
Coury averaged two points and 1.7 rebounds as a sophomore last season.
“The list of schools that he gave me earlier in the summer was Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Stanford, Cal, UCLA and I believe (Southern California),” Gillispie said. "I told him, ‘Sure. If we aren’t going to give you a scholarship, I’ll do anything I can to help you get one.’ I’m 100 percent behind him
I know there’s another fanshot about him leaving… but could he really get a scholarship to any of those schools?
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Well, I wasn't going to write anything about that, but since you brought it up ...
… I’m not sure what he’s thinking. I know he’s a great student, so maybe he’s looking at getting an academic sholly. I really don’t know. But, I do have a hard time envisioning any of those schools offering him a basketball scholarship.

academic
coury is a fine enough student to get an academic ride at uk. I dont know what he;s thinking with this list. michigan is really really thin. They seem to the only school on the list who might offer.
