Obviously great news.

HAT TIP: UKWildCatFanatic, Acdixon, and Matt Jones

UPDATE: WKYT is reporting that Coach Gillispie still refuses to comment on the eligibility of Liggins and Galloway. Gilliispie has previously stated that he will not remark on academic issues regarding his players, but it is puzzling that UK won't confirm whether the two players are indeed eligible, or not.

UPDATE 2:
Jerry Tipton has more.

My apologies for "jumping the gun."

UPDATE 3: Galloway says he's eligible.

Great pick-up

Great job UKWildCatFanatic and Acdixon.

I hope you don’t mind me deleting your entries, but this news deserves front page status.

No problem

Just wanted to spread the good word. This will unify the comments in one location anyway.

Super Duper...

Now if the medical doctors will have equally good news for PPat and JMeeks.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Pat and Meeks

Everything I have heard has been great news from both of them concerning their recovery. Both will be ready to go.

Whew!

I know there was talk the last week or so that Liggins and Galloway would be eligible, but I always prefer to wait for official word in circumstances such as these before I believe it.

Now that it is official, I feel ALOT better about the season – enough to believe they might be able to pull off something special like beating UNC (ok, maybe not that). Nonetheless, let the dreaming begin!

Great job ...

… keeping the place up to date, guys.

I have been out most of the day. I am getting ready to go out of town for a week, but don’t worry — the laptop is coming with me. :-)

Peevey

I must admit I am a bit befuddled at UK’s stance regarding announcing whether these players are eligible or not.

I understand the privacy issue, but by UK’s logic, they shouldn’t play any games, because that would reveal whether they gained eligibility or not. What the hell is the difference in waiting until MM and simply issuing a press release.

I don’t recall this type of cloak and dagger crap at any other school, or at UK for that matter.

Seems kinda silly, and more than a little paranoid.

I'm not finished yet ...

Furthermore, if UK doesn’t comment on a players academic status how come I’ve read comments from various UK folks about Liggins needing to retake his ACT a couple of times? How come we know there are eligibility issues involving Liggins and Galloway?

I realize some of the information came from Findlay Prep ( LIggins ) and Southern Idaho ( Galloway ), but UK hasn’t been silent on the issue. They’ve been vague, but they have commented.

I Think Both Are Eligible

Based on an E-Mail from an old friend yesterday with UKAA (and team) connections.

I feel confident ...

… he is right.

I don't doubt that ...

… but UK being so … paranoid, secret, whatever, is unnecessary.

But, the important thing is that the guys play this year! That’s a relief :)

By Way Of Comparison

The Minnesota SID announced that frosh recruit Devoe Joseph of Canada got a favorable nod from NCAA clearinghouse. And he (SID) answered media questions, too.
