• Daniel Orton is down to six schools — Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Kansas, Ohio State and Kentucky. The Wildcats are his early favorite. "I'm really interested in Kentucky and their program," said Orton. "I've known the coaches for a long time. Coach (Billy) Gillispie recruited my brother, and (Assistant) Coach (Glynn) Cyprien coached him at Oklahoma State."

Orton

I don’t usually do this, but I think Orton ends up at UK. He has consistently stated that UK is his favorite ( in so many words ).

I also think he is a very important recruit due to the fact that Patterson leaving after his sophomore year is very likely ( in my opinion ). Orton is the type of player that Gillispie can continue to build the team around, and not miss a beat, if Patterson leaves.

One common thread in all of Ortons remarks to the press is Coach Cyprien. He really likes Cyp, which speaks well of Cypriens ability to build relationships with the players and their families.

I think Gillispie has put together a terrific staff of recruiters … which is what it’s all about.

Oh great, Ken!

You don’t usually do this? This is really quite funny; I am incredibly superstitious—have you made these kinds of statements before and then the kid doesn’t commit? Hmmm….You could be jinxing the whole thing…..Take it back! Take it back! ; )

Actually, I totally agree with your entire comment – the committing to UK, the easy transition in replacing Patrick, well, all of it.

So, I guess I too will go out on a limb here and say that "I think that Orton will end up at UK"…..I have that feelin’ too. Because you know, my feelings on recruiting are so much more accurate than everyone else’s. : )

I didn't even think about jinxing UK :)

I’ll have to move if Orton opts for another school :(

Move?

Please not.

I too just have a feeling Orton will commit to UK, with my fingers crossed. If not, I will be in deep depression :(

Orton

May be the only other UK signee (besides Hood and Vilarino) in 2009 class.

He would get Patterson’s spot if he goes 2 NBA. And in starting lineup on Day 1.
