UK Wildcat Country: WORLD’S GREATEST CLASSIC GAME ANALYSIS: UK VS. DUKE (1998)
This game was truly a classic. Nice job by Seth capturing the moment again.

I Was There (Luckily)
An incredible game to witness in person.

Great game
but the world’s greatest?1978 Title game against Duke or even the 1992 regional final against Duke ranks higher in my book. The 98 game was great payback though, and a very good game.Man,that was a long time ago(I remember going to Florida that year and paying 75 cents for a gallon of gas in Georgia!).

Oh, uh ...
... the title “World’s greatest” is a self-description of the quality of his analysis, not the subject of it.

Thanks
for the clarification.I did see a poll once that the 92 Regional final UK/Duke was the greatest college BB game ever played(ESPN).Too bad we came out on the short side of the stick on that one :(

Poll or no ...
... the 1992 Duke-UK game was the greatest college basketball game played in my 50+ years of life. No doubt at all.

Perhaps
But 1975 UK vs IU regional final in Dayton was pretty darn close to it.

As the saying in Vegas goes...
“Always bet on black”, or on whoever Digger picks to lose. I put much more stock in what “Dukeboy” Bilas says these days, than anything Digger ever says.
A great game indeed. And that was a good pizza for a chain store.
It was one of my most satisfying moments in sports to see the illustrious Coach K, standing on the sidelines, his team falling apart, and no TO’s to call. A great job by the Cats to put them in that position, and a great coaching job by Tubby, to refuse to call one too, if memory serves me correctly.

To this day....
I am still kicking myself for turning off the TV at halftime in disgust and not finding out UK won until much later that night!
To make matters MUCH worse during the title game vs. Utah I missed the last 3-4 mintues dealing with an intoxicated patron at a restaurant I was managing at the time. At least UK won and I got to call the guy a cab and toss him out!

Well ...
... Then there is no way you saw the Mardi Gras Miracle. :-)
My wife went to bed in disgust, and asked me why I didn’t come along. I recall saying something along the lines of “A true ‘Cat fan sticks with them when they are being embarrassed, not just when they have a chance to win.”
Needless to say, she was shocked to find out that Kentucky had won that game.

Very true
...Though I wish I’d made an exception for the game at Vandy last year…..

That was no fun ...
... to be sure. None whatsoever.
