and his point that there used to be only 16 teams in the tourney? laughable…that makes it harder to get wins. you can’t get points for winning your first two rounds against teams like weber state, hampton, or virginia commonwealth (of course, this assumes that you can beat VCU).

His link takes you to a talk forum on the KSR website and he did not even read all the posts there or he would have seen that a Kansas Jayhawk guy did it with the help of a Duke guy. Geezzz

To misread a simple story so completely makes me seriously question this writer’s reading comprehension skills. It was obvious to me, a lowly University of Kentucky graduate, that the person who remanipulated the data was a Kansas Jayhawk fan. It was also stated in a straightforward manner that a Duke fan reworked the numbers because he, like many others, believed the numbers were skewed by the perceived weakness of SEC basketball in the early years. The result of his removing the effect of inconference wins did not remove our beloved Cats from the top spot (while it did, admittedly, decrease the differential between No. 1 and No. 2).

So, to this writer, I have the following suggestion:

Give up writing about basketball, something you obviously don’t know much about, and take a college level literature class.

Too much book sense makes a person of no common sense. I truly believe that.

And in this day and time, it is the people with common sense plus some book sense that survive.
