Cats win big in CBS poll
You gotta read Parrish's comments on this. There's some seriously hilarious stuff here. Big Blue wins again!

Heh.
Anyway, the whole thing got me thinking. If Kentucky fans are strong enough to help their Wildcats win an online poll against a UCLA team featuring Alcindor and Walton - two men who combined to go 174-6 in their college careers - what other online polls could they manipulate in their favor?
“Manipulate,” Gary? C’mon now, surely you meant to praise us for our determination and love of team, not suggest we somehow violated the rules or something. Not very nice. But victory is sure sweet.

UK fans could easily vote Gillispie our next president...
if only we didn’t need him for more important things here!
Still not a crook!

My favorite comment
I bet Billy Gillispie wishes the NCAA would put DeAndre Liggins’ eligibility up for a vote. The heralded incoming freshman would be cleared by noon Friday if that happened.
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

That is indeed sweet...
Amazing what a mobilized BBN can do. The winning percentage absolutely blew me away!

HMM Smells so Sweet
I gotta say I find that the online power of the BBN something to be proud of.
Sometimes the beast can be hard to control and cannibalization can occur but when faced with an outside threat there is no greater power group in the internet community than the united big blue nation.

BBN
We are apt to turn on each other at times but can be a truly unstoppable force when united. I thought it was funny too.

Parrish
I’ve liked Parrish from the time I started reading his stuff a couple of years ago. He’s UK fan friendly, and gives lots of positive publicity to the ‘Cats.
I have to admit that I am surprised at the margin of victory, as kykat pointed out. I thought for sure the UNC, Kansas and Duke fans would mobilize against UK. Of course maybe they did, but it just wasn’t enough.

Not enough
Or they just didn’t care…

That's just it
and sets us apart from most programs. All of the prgrams involved are elite. Some can argue whether or not UK is the most elite program. But it would be hard for someone to make an argument that we do not have the best FANS.

"Best" ...
... is pretty subjective.
But objectively, nobody can argue that we don’t have one of the most active and vibrant on-line communities in all of sport, college or otherwise. This is just more proof of that fact.
