A miraculous last-second play lifted Duke over Kentucky in - 12.28.92 - SI Vault

A worthy read, if you haven't read it.

Since we are recalling Duke-Kentucky, recall this post as well. While you're at it, relive "the stomp" with this video.

His article on “The Game” is one of the best sports articles I have ever read.

Stick around for the last line of his piece, it’s worth it.

I read the entire 10 pages...

It was a great read as much as I did not want to relive that game again.

Thanks Tru for linking your post from last August. I did not find this blog until early this year. It was a very good read also as were the comments.

I am not going to that video again. Seen it too many times!

Cawood’s comment about his last game is legendary…just as he will always be in the BBN.

Ahh ...

... I didn’t think about you not having read that. I thought all UK fans were issued this website address with their Big Blue Nation card. :-)

They should be

When I found it, I was like “Where the heck has this site been all my life?” LOL Hoping to make a few more liveblogs this year when hoops season starts up. ASOB folks are the best.

ASOB folks the best!

My sentiments exactly.

Damn Ken don't ya know by now?

Geez…the best site for UK sports news for the “discerning fan”.

That Night

I was on a trip to Maryland. I drove all around the countryside of Western Maryland trying to hear the WHAS broadcast. The signal was intermittent but I heard the last few seconds of the game.

Woods’ shot was amazing enough but Laettner’s was miraculous.

Snippets Only

Never watched the whole game. Cawood described it better than the TV taped it.

Ok Ok...

You want a little more praise?

You and Tru write so many commentary articles concerning UK football, basketball, and other sideline sports at UK. Yours and his work is excellent, and even though I do not comment a great deal because I don’t like getting into a controversy with opinions at times, I still read everything.

I commend Tru and all the authors here because this is my favorite UK blog.

Thanks ...

... I don’t know if Ken appreciates that, but I do. :-)

Seriously, it’s our members that make this place what it is. Otherwise, it’s just barking at the moon.

Oh I am sure he does.

He just probably had a thing with his kids at this time of night. I remember well getting my young ones to bed. Sometimes took a lot of effort :-)

It's ...

... a requirement for all bloggers. Part of the DNA, I’m told. :-)

They're in bed. Tomorrow is my 5 year olds first day of school ...

... and I’m supposed to be researching the football teams offensive and defensive lines for my next post.

Re: kykat

My “the best what” comment was an attempt at self-deprecating humor :)

And I responded...

Good luck with your 5 year old tomorrow…kids are the lifeline of adults…they will keep you young old man :-)
