It’s the kind of continuity the Wildcats can afford thanks in part to the football team’s on-field success. Back-to-back 8-5 seasons have packed Commonwealth Stadium and allowed the athletic department—which is its own entity separate from the university—to pay the bills and then some.
Anybody think winning in football doesn't matter? Football is one heck of a big revenue sport, and when we pack Commonwealth, it is a financial windfall for the athletic department.

Good article by the AP
It was no doubt a difficult year in many ways for UK and it’s athletic department.
Barnhart has shown in the past that he is the right man to steer the ship that is UK athletics. His judgment to this point has been nearly flawless. I expect under his leadership that UK will continue to progress in all sports, hopefully resulting in some championships.
