Talent

I think our talent is getting better.

Even after losing so much its good to see a few players make the all sec teams. I think a few of them should be rated a bit higher though.

I think that's right.

Brooks and Phillips are doing a great job of upgrading our talent. No, we are still not landing 4 and 5’s, but we are landing high-quality 3’s consistently.

To add insult to injury

Usually four DBs are selected to each team. Because of ties, five DBs are on the 1st making Lindley the 6-9 best DB in the conference.

Two months (!). Two weeks. Two pencils.

surprised

i was surprised by that as well, but i don’t think it’ll surprise anyone here when he’s no longer on the 2nd team at the end of the season.

Micah Johnson

I think its interesting that he is being recognized. I may be mistaken but I don’t think he did much last year. This is based on reputation and potential and the knowledge throughout the league that he could explode this year. I hear he has lost weight and is stronger and faster than he has ever been. How do you replace Woodyard, one of the greatest Wildcat linebackers ever? Kelly and Johnson, who I believe learned a lot from Wesley, may be the answer.

Micah Johnson

Check out my preview of UK’s linebackers. It has Johnson’s stats from last year, as well as a forecast.

Johnson

I’ll never forget going with my then-wife to watch Ft. Knox vs. Ft. Campbell up on post. (three years ago was it? or four? Damn… Dad always told me this day would come.) Johnson was a senior at Ft. Campbell and an absolute beast. The kid was ginormous. He had a D1 body on a field with 21 other “children.” Watching him with his team as they walked off the field and towards the locker room, I knew he’d end up special somewhere. I’m anxious to see him get his chance this year.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."
