This is one of Tipton's better efforts. Some good points back up by stats. Interesting stuff about Ramel Bradley. The Dick Vitale stuff still galls me a bit, and Dickie V. did nothing in this article to make me love him more.

I liked Tipton's comment about Packer. He is right about intelligence and candor, but I'm damned sure I won't miss Packer, the crusty, humorless old curmudgeon.

UK May Have Questions But (If Answered) 25+ W Are Possible

WF Ramon Harris, Darius Miller
PF Perry Stevenson, AJ Stewart
LP Patrick Patterson, Josh Harrellson, Jared Carter
SG Jodie Meeks, Michael Porter
PG DeAndre Liggins, Kevin Galloway

2 deep at each spot. 10+ W in OOC, 15+ W in SEC and SECT are possible.

Vitale
In this latest book, Vitale will list college basketball’s best 50 players and its top 50 moments since 1979 (the year ESPN launched and made Vitale its face of the sport).

"Strictly subjective," Vitale said of his list of the top 50 players.

He noted the difficulty in making such a list. There are 30 national players of the year that must be included. That leaves 20 spots. With 150 first-team All-Americans in that span, many will not make the cut.

When it was suggested that Kentucky surely is well represented, Vitale said, "Uh, I wouldn’t be too sure."

I guarantee there’s not a single Kentucky player on the list.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Mashburn

Mashburn wasn’t a national player of the year… so he’s up for one of those 20 spots. This is Vitale we’re talking about. You and I can say there is “little doubt in his (Mashburn’s) case” but I don’t see him making the list. He didn’t play for an ACC school! ;-)

My joking about ACC bias aside (okay… so I’m not joking); I think Vitale will scrape the bottom of the barrell for his PTPers and Diaper Dandies to put on the list in those 20 spots. I still say not a single Kentucky player on there.

Now his list of events… I’m betting we get on there four times.
1) The 92 game (you know what I’m referring to).
2) Pitino winning his first (and still only) title.
3) 1997 Arizona beating Kentucky to be the first team to beat 3 number one seeds on the way to the title.
4) Tubby cuts down the nets.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."
