UK Wildcat Country: GILLISPIE MAKES A DREAM COME TRUE
Touching story, and a tribute to the coach. It needs no additional commentary from me.

Another great story...
Coach G may be a tough coach but he has a very soft side for kids and even adults who need a special favor.
There was another story several months ago that Vaught did in the Danville paper. The mother of a young kid, I am thinking he was 7 or 8 years old , had broken his leg and she was taking him to a doctor in Lexington. While there for a followup check, she had stopped at the Dawahare’s store and the son is a big UK fan. Anyway he sat in the car while she had a short errand to do in the store and he noticed Coach walking into Dawahare’s before his mom went in.
When she got in the store she noticed a guy in the men’s department, but she was not sure it was Coach. While he was in the dressing room she asked the lady clerk if it was Coach G and the lady told her yes. So here is Coach trying on all his UK apparrel and when he comes out for more the Mom tells him about her son and that he would love to have him sign his cast.
Needless to say he would not hear of Mom going back to the car and son coming in, the clerk told him he could walk out of the store with the UK clothes and sign the boy’s cast.
The kid was estactic. Just a small thing to do in his everyday busy life but he took the time to make a young kid happy.
I am very proud to have him here in Ky and for our Coach for many years…I hope.
