Roburt Sallie a uk wildcat....according to facebook?

Yeah i am the one who dropped the Jasper story around a month or so ago, it sucks that it turned out to be true.  But tonight I come bearing fantastic news, according to Roburt Sallie's facebook profile...he is now a uk wildcat.  Also wanted to mention that my significant other met someone claiming to be a family member of Sallie's and also told her that Sallie was in fact in the blue and white.  I expect an official statement whenever i wake in the morning, just thought I would let you know my inside info.  But wait for an official statement before jumping in excitement.  I am really glad we were able to land this guy as he will make an instant impact on next years team.  This guy is a future first round draft pick and maybe even lottery pick.  Why can't November come now!

He's A Good Player

But 1st rounder/lottery pick are a stretch.

Sallie was Calif JuCo POY in 2008.

Clipped From Hoopmasters' Story On Sallie Visiting UK

Roburt Sallie, a 6-foot-5 point guard from City College of San Francisco, is visiting Kentucky this weekend. Sallie verbally committed to Washington while at Patterson (NC)Prep. However, he failed to qualify academically and spent another year in prep school at Laurinburg (NC). He signed with Nebraska, but was ruled ineligible in early September of 2006.

Sallie transferred to City College of San Francisco and sat out last year. He averaged 17 points per game this season as he led the Rams to a 29-4 mark and was named California Community College Player of the Year.

Sallie was expected to head back to Nebraska, but was recently ruled ineligible by the Big 12 for violating Rule 6.2, which state a student who enrolls must meet initial eligibility requirements or he will never be allowed to play for any Big 12 school.

Sallie is also hearing from schools such as Memphis, Cincinnat,i and Maryland and would have three years of eligibility remaining after earning his associate’s degree.

According to Matt May of The Cats Pause ...

... Sallie did not even visit UK this weekend, as he had planned.

I don’t know what it all means. We’ll have to wait and see, I guess.

Hopefully he is just back finishing up some summer school work, comfortable in the fact that he is packing his bags for Lexington when he wraps up his studies.

No

He visited Cincinnati instead of UK.

Memphis leads at this point.

Facebook?

I don’t put much belief in what these kids or young adults post on their profiles. I have never been there and will never go there. Kinda like My Space…lol. I steer my 15 yr old grandsons away from those sites, as do their parents.

facebook

Facebook is quite a bit easier to use and cleaner than myspace. It began as a site that only college students could use and is much more popular among college aged students than younger kids.
If it was legitimate i would believe it if someone really posted it.

WE GET LAST VISIT

There is a maddness to billys recruiting. We get last visit because billy is very confident.

That's ...

... always a plus if he doesn’t commit before coming here.

Memphis

I think (hunch only) he’ll commit to Memphis when he visits.

It's possible ...

... and if he does, I think our odds of getting Wall go up somewhat, although Wall would likely not be too concerned about trying to get PT from Sallie.

I Think Memphis Could Land Both

And UK could also get both. The 2 are not mutually exclusive.

I think Memphis gets both. We’ll C what happens.

not so fast my friend

Memphis is a beast, but the days of gloom and doom is over. If he wasnt really interested in us he would have traveled down 71 to lexington right after his visit to clifton and got it out of the way. Trust me on this one.

by billy bluegrass on Jun 14, 2008 10:06 AM EDT   0 recs

I think ...

... we have a real good shot at him if he actually shows up for a visit.

Sallie to Memphis

Too bad he never took a visit to UK.

by kykat51 on Jun 16, 2008 6:23 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Yeah ...

... that’s the thing. Had he come here for a visit, it may not have been so.

We will never know. Moving on.

75 Goes From Cincy To Lexington, Not 71

And he has a serious interest in UC but they are second to Memphis on his list. UK in the running but 3rd right now. All subject to change.

Those 1, 2, 3 lists come from information garnered on his UC visit.

Sallie goes to Memphis

http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2008/jun/16/tigers-get-basketball-commitment-6-5-guard-sallie/

I’m torn, as I grew up in Kentucky but did my undergrad at Memphis. I thought UK really did have a good chance at this guy, though.

No Surprise

Memphis all along. They are very attractive to recruits with Calipari and his NBA playing syle.
