Outgoing Mississippi State coaching legend Ron Polk is furious over the Cohen hire, and is letting everyone who will listen know about it. He apparently thinks one of his assistants deserved the spot, and is taking every action he can to attack the incoming MSU (and former UK assistant AD) Greg Byrne, going so far as to take MSU out of his will while Byrne is still there and demanding his name be taken off the stadium.

This isn't going to end well. Polk isn't a legend for nothing, and he isn't keeping his mouth shut. He has many more friends at MSU than Byrne. Byrne may not last the summer, and I'm not sure Cohen can survive this firestorm for any significant length of time.

I just read Polk's diatribe ...

... and I don’t think I have ever heard any coach go off on an AD like Polk did Byrne. I still can’t believe what I read.

Cohen seems to be in an unteneable situation. I wish him luck.

Wow

I don’t know that I have anything more to add than that.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Question

I wonder how big of a jackass polk has to be to act like this to a player he coached.
It seems to me he deserves to have his name taken off the field considering his actions.
I dont know much about Raffo but I am pretty sure Cohen will do an oustanding job at MSU.
