Matthew Pilgrim Enrolls at UK?
Hopefully we'll have an official announcement in the morning.

Glad to hear about Pilgrim...
but very sad for whoever was in the vacinity of Marc Maggard when the news broke. He probably grabbed the nearest person (likely one of his 16 year old groupies) and insanely ranted about how vastly superior he is to Matt Jones.
Still not a crook!
Marc Maggard...
has been ranting over at KSR half the day…I don’t know this guy, don’t care to and hope I never see him in public.
He's an ego-maniac
whose readers worship him no matter how rude and disrespectful he is to them. I didn’t know who he was until Tru went on his show. He was basically a huge jerk and EXTREMELY immature. If anyone says anything bad about him he’ll get into a 30 post argument with that person until they finally give up.
Still not a crook!
that is why I love this site...
Tru does not claim to be any type of expert he just gives us info.
It should never be a battle over who got what info first and from where. Who Cares?
We just want to know who is going to wear Blue & White!!
Go Cats!!!!
UK has the greatest fans in the world!
Here's a prime example...

Driving me crazy...
I am sure you all know but I am very frequent KSR poster but this obsession with who got what info first is driving me nuts and the people that criticize UK fans for being on the website too much doesn’t make any sense. Aren’t we all UK fans trying to get UK info?
UK has the greatest fans in the world!
Why I get my news here
The other sites may have the news a couple hours before Tru/JL/FGM/Ken can get it posted here… but the dismay that I would feel about the fan-base as a whole by getting my news from those sites is not worth it.
Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."
oh my god, so true, chirop
I think I die a little inside every time I break down and visit the free Cat’s Pause message board. It is not worth knowing something an hour earlier (well, unless it’s something huge…) to have to wade into that mess. Dumb, mean, petty, childish, shrill and rude….that’s what I think of the atmosphere, and I’m a FAN. Oh, how I cringe to think that the TCP board is probably the main way that national media types get their read on UK fans. I’ve never sought out to read Maggard because I get the impression it’s probably just not my kind of thing—I really hate the sports-guy-as-pushy-punk-asshole a la Jim Rome. I guess, to each her own!
I do enjoy the info and the frat-boy goofiness of KSR. I don’t like or visit it nearly as much as here, and I’ve never commented—the comments are usually inane but harmless.

Posters
I read KSR quite a bit but I gave up posting there about a year ago. It was a great site to post at when it was first being started but round about the time Pat committed it got flooded with some really sophmoric stuff.
I still read the site a lot but only do my conversating here at ASOB.
DEEETROIT BASKETBALLL!!!
Both KSR And TCP Want $ For Premium Site Discussion
(I think) their marketing strategy may be to allow free site to deteriorate so posters will pay $ for premium discussion just to avoid the drivel on the free part of their sites.

I will tell you ...
... that at KSR, the premium board is somewhat better than Rupp’s Rafters, although it is still the same combative type thing you see at RR and occasionally over at Matt’s site. I think Matt’s commenters do pretty well most of the time, and I will leave a comment or two over there. I really like most of the guys who post over there, they are sharp and insightful and do a great job of promoting the irreverent and off-the-cuff culture that Matt created. I read them both every day, and although I think Marc Maggard does a great job at Kentucky Ink, I tend to go there less often.
I remember back when Maggard posted over at KSR before beginning Kentucky Ink, and Rob Gidel as well. I don’t think either of them really fit the tone Matt was trying to create for Kentucky Sports Radio, although both are very well informed.
Our objective here at A Sea of Blue is to provide a place for thoughtful, polite discussion rather than the “sports bar” type atmosphere that so many sites seem to prefer. Everyone tries to separate themselves from the crowd by doing things a little different, and we are incredibly fortunate to have such a mature, thoughtful and well-informed readership. Blogs are very different than message boards by their nature, and each format tends to attract certain types of people.
As usual, I want to thank every one of you for coming by and adding so much to our community. It is you who have made A Sea of Blue what it is today. I know I am proud of it, and I hope all of you are as well, but the lion’s share of the credit goes to our readers and commenters. Without them, this site would be like so many others on the Internet—a place where good commentary goes to die.
