Guards are far easier to obtain than multi-dimensional frontcourt players who can score inside and out and can pull down double-digit rebounds with frequency. There's Jason Kidd, Chris Paul, Deron Williams. C'mon, the Boston Celtics won the NBA title this past season with RAJON RONDO running the team.
The weird thing is, I was all set to praise The Loathsome Troll Jeff Goodman for making the observation that the Bulls should have picked Beasley instead of Rose.
But then he goes and insults Rajon Rondo. Same old douchebag.

Goodman
Not sure what Goodman’s problem is.
But I do know that his observations are many times lacking in supporting facts, and too often obviously slanted.

Derrick Rose
Absolutely the right choice by the Bulls.
Beasley is good but Bulls have player(s) like him.
Bulls had NO ONE like Rose. Now they do.

I dont think so
The bulls most certainly have no one like Michael Beasley. All of their big men are one dimensional and have no where near the scoring ability of Beasley. While I believe Rose will have a much better career than Heinrich I think that Beasley could have helped the bulls out much quicker than Rose will. the bulls have a serviceable point guard in Heinrich and desperately need front court scoring which Beasley would have addressed. While Rose will be a good player for them i think they could have improved more quickly with Beasley.

Win, win
Honestly, the Bulls had a win-win, whoever they took. They aren’t loaded at either position, but IMO are solid at both. What’s the over-under on number of days until Heinrich gets traded?
