I hear Liggins failed to qualify again...
Leaving him one more opportunity this summer to make a passing score. If Jasper doesn't return, that would leave Galloway and Porter running the point.
However, I hear the Billy Clyde is hot on the trail of a 2008 point guard out of Durham, North Carolina. You can check him out on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6qjhf09IMA He seems to be a cross between Pistol Pete (flashy style and ballhandling skills) and Tim Hardaway (cross over move that will break your ankles). Here's hoping we get this kid.

Word is ...
... that the player you are talking about will attend UK’s camp this summer. My assumption is that is where Gillispie will evaluate him. No question in my mind that if UK offers, he will take it.

If he's smart he'll accept.
One star prospect with no major offers. Hopefully he’s not simply a youtube legend and can actually play organized ball. Buy hey, if Rafer Alston (aka: “Skip to my lou”) can do it, others can too. I’m sure Coach G will get past the sick crossover and determine real potential.

McClintock can play!!
The kid transferred from a small high school to a big 4A school to play against and with the “big boys” last season. Was an unknown to many including the folks that “rate/rank” high school players. Only had 1 year of big time high school ball.
NC State wants him to walk-on, out of scholarships. UNC wants him to wait until the Lawson “situation” works out one way or another.
Much better than a “one star,” much better!

NC State or UK
Either team getting him will make me happy!

I want him.
If the YouTube is real he is a find.

I read that it was...
Bobby Perry (who is from Durham, I believe) who actually brought this guy to the attention of the UK staff. Supposedly, he is really big on him and told the UK folks that they needed to go check this guy out.

I also read that...
Ramel Bradley has seen (or maybe played against in pickup games) the Galloway kid and said that he is good. The source I read said that Ramel is not one to just heap praise on everybody.

Galloway Is Good
Liggins is better. He was iffy to qualify all along. Hope he does.
UK has had McCarty, Anthony Dent, and Estill fail to qualify in years past. 2 of the 3 attended UK anyway.

Stability
An elite program like UK does not need to be dickering around with kids who can’t qualify academically. Waiting for Liggins - who is 20 years old - to qualify has prevented us from signing some real players. We need stability in our program.

Liggins
Well worth it. Solid Top 25 player.
Like McCarty. UK waited a year for him.
Ditto Reggie Hanson. Sat out 1987.

Agree 100%
However, I think it is different to wait on a kid who 100% wants to be here and needs some time and help qualifying and waiting on a guy to make up his mind to stay. I love Jasper but he AND UK need to be able to turn the page in the play book or turn the page on this chapter of the relationship so BCG can have a clear(er) path to next season and, if he leaves, Jasper can get settled at a new school even if he is sitting next season.

I think we need to sign McClintock
Just like a great coach cannot teach a kid to grow taller, a kid cannot be taught to be that quick with the ball – even if he has other flaws in his game, they would probably improve with some good coaching (esp. if he has only played one year of big time HS basketball) – those skills appear to be insane. McClinton literally looked like he was moving at 1.5x on YouTube, but everyone else was still running at regular speed.

Not A Link But Comments (To Rivals) At TOC This Week
(Clipped)
HI, MY NAME IS..
Legends are being born these days on the ‘net thanks to the evolution of YouTube. And when the clips of North Carolina guard Hunter McClintock hit the world wide web, fans were buzzing.
On Friday night, the Dot Com phenom went to work in real life for Southeast Elite. Playing his first game with a new team, the class of 2008 guard steadied the ship for the Alabama-based club and put on an entertaining show.
The Durham, N.C. product scored 16 points, including three three-pointers and showed off some fancy ball-handling. His basketball IQ is high and his shot was good, albeit slow out of his hands, when it needed to be.
McClintock is said he will take part in Kentucky’s elite camp next week in Lexington. He is hoping to earn a late offer from the Wildcats.
“Things are getting pretty serious with them,” the 6-foot-1 guard said. “I’d like to get up there for their elite camp and go from there.”
If UK offers, he admitted it would be hard to turn a chance to play at that level down. Gonzaga and Air Force were also in the picture, he said.

UK basketball guards...
Why is no one mentioning Darius Miller. We blew it with Chris Lofton. Miller was the star of the 2008 Kentucky Sweet 16 Tournament winner—Mason County. He is not normal guard size, but he can move. Plus he doesn’t seem to have trouble with his “ballroom dancing” tests. I know Liggins is good but we actually have a team if Patterson is well and Stevenson continues where he left off. Meeks should be around as well. Jasper will probably transfer but we will survive and be better than next year. Josh Harrelson is going to make a big difference.

Well ...
... I think our real weakness is at point guard, not shooting guard or wing forward, which is where Miller projects.
Liggins represents a major cog in Kentucky’s strategy now that Jasper is leaving. Yes, we may be able to run it through Kevin Galloway, but I don’t really think that’s what Gillispie wants to do, and Liggins is a very good passing point guard, the best UK has signed since Rondo.

Liggins Starts (and Stars) If He Gets His Test Score
I say 50-50 at best. He has one more chance in June. Wish him luck!

2004 Recruiting
UK signed Rajon Rondo, Joe Crawford, and Ramel Bradley when Lofton was available. UK hardly “blew it” by signing those 3 instead of Lofton. All 3 were rated higher than Lofton.
Josh Harrellson will be a decent post reserve but won’t start nor make much of a difference next year.

Test Was Taken Yesterday
Results available in 2 to 4 weeks.
“Various sites” may be premature.

I think ...
... that’s right.
My memory tells me that the test dates were around mid-June, and no way would he know the scores yet.

The scuttlebutt ...
... appears to be that he has raised his core class grades to a level that would allow him to qualify with existing test scores.
No confirmation, though. I don’t put much stock in it, but I would sure like it to be true.
