Jasper's gone, just read the diary

I spoke with a former co worker who has been friends with Derrick Jasper since he arrived at UK and he tells me that Jasper is 100% gone from UK.  After his finals were finished this afternoon he made a phone call to the person in question and basically said his goodbyes.  He is now gone from Lexington and will not be returning.  You can take this as a rumor for now until an offical word is released tomorrow or the next.  Its a sad day in the wildcat world and I am sorry to be the bringer of bad news.

Bad news ...
indeed.  But I have felt this would happen for quite some time now.

We must move on, but my heartfelt best wishes go out to him.  I hope he will return to the court a year from now completely whole from his difficult surgery.

Enjoy ...
...Frankly, after the tenures of Sims, Crawford (frosh), Morris and Legion, I'm about done with guys who DON'T want to be here, for whatever reasons.

Thanks for the memories, but forgive me if I don't shed a tear over a kid who didn't want what we got.

Tough to lose
him but UK will be fine. I hope he finds what he's looking for. Good luck D-Jaz!!

Well Wishes
His contribution to the team will be missed, but having to coax him to stay each year will not.

I guess I will take it for rumor
...since it is May 5th @ 2:30 PM EST and I still see no official notification of his leaving.

I wish he would swim or get out of the toilet personally.

Fond Farewell

No player makes KY great. But each one that plays within the system makes the team PLAY great. Thanks for doing that for two years with us, DJ!!!

I am really torn

on this one. On one hand I would like him to stay as he is a valuable asset to the team. He can play multiple positions etc. He also needs to learn responsibility and honoring commitments. On the other hand what a baby. What happens if he goes to the NBA and gets drafted by an Eastern Conference team? Is he going to cry and say he is homesick? Grow up and be a man seems to be what he needs to hear from his parents. I will probably be bitter if he leaves because he has a wonderful opportunity to showcase himself at one of the highest profile schools in the country. I just don’t get it. I have great parents but I couldn’t wait to get out of the house and be on my own when I turned 18. I just don’t get these people that seem co-dependant! OK I got that off my chest.
