BREAKING: JUCO Galloway commits

Stay connected for news and updates

Cats Pause has confirmed Internet rumblings that College of Southern Idaho point guard Kevin Galloway has committed to the Wildcats (premium) for the upcoming 2008-09 season. He chose Kentucky over late dogged pursuit from both Tennessee and Memphis, and interest or offers from UNLV, Washington State, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

Galloway led the entire NJCAA with 8.53 assists per game this past season -- with a season-high 17 against Montana Western -- and added 4.1 rebounds and 2.4 steals to go along with 8.3 points on a stacked, number-three ranked JUCO team. According to the TCP article, Galloway shot 52% from the field, 45% from three-point range.

CSI was beaten by rival Salt Lake CC (#4) in the regional finals, ending their season.

Galloway would arrive in the fall with two years of eligibility remaining. He originally signed with Southern Cal in 2006 and played in 13 games as a freshman, averaging 2.8 points and 2.2 assists before leaving.

More to come.
