UK rising in many ranking systems

Massey Ranking Comparison

This is a comparative rankings system. It takes computer (and human voting) rankings and gives an average score, (ranking). Some may have already been to this site, but I thought I’d post it for those who have not checked it out. It also has links to all the ratings sites out there.

 UK is currently ranked 40.

UK is ranked as high as 25, but the most interesting thing is the lowest ranking that the Cats have is 55…? Out of 300+ schools, that is truly amazing considering all the dirt that has been thrown on our coffin.

Louisville’s high and low are 3-71…

Minnesota’s,  15-77

I think the low score tells me more about where a team may be then the high score… It tell us that when all the numbers are put in, (whatever they may be), this is as low as your team ranks anywhere, with any system…

Interesting numbers… So, take a look at the rankings and compare UK with other “like” schools and you’ll see that we are not that far off… Not that far at all..!

LOL@1996

Good to get some well-deserved credit in 2003 though.

I’m really getting excited about this year after watching that last game, though. Can’t wait for the next game!

1996 Was A Quirk

UK started #1 but the loss to UMass (early) made them #2.

UK got back to #1 but the loss to Miss St (SECT) dropped them back to #2 in final AP poll.

Moved up in Pomeroy's rankings as well.

I noticed that today when preparing my basketball blogpoll ballot.

KenPom

I like his ratings. He was the only one who credited UK as a fairly decent team in 2006 (#20) and 2007 (#14).

His rankings ...

… in my opinion, come the closest to being objective.

Based On Stats

He doesn’t let personal opinon sway his numbers.

His current ratings put UK at #22 (higher than other polls or methods).

Uk has been playing like Top 25 team lately.

Actually BBState ...

… has a similar system that is very good. They place more emphasis on road games than Pomeroy does, as well as some other factors.

I still think Pomeroy grades out slightly better, but for a fact, I haven’t tried to compare them. Both do very good work.
