Trevard Lindley: Possible 2009 Second-Rounder?

In looking at how certain underclassmen would fare in the 2009 NFL draft, Tony Pauline from CNNSI asserts that Lindley would be a probable second-round pick if he decided to come out.  I doubt he'll leave, considering UK's defense should be strong again next year, but it's something to look forward to.

"Trevard Lindley/CB/Kentucky: The Wildcats corner has shown steady improvement the past two years. Lindley, who grades as a second-round pick, is uncertain as to whether or not he'll enter the draft."

I bet ...

… you would!

Lindley will probably go. He is an early second rounder that could rise to the first round, very late. Another year at UK would be a risk, as he is almost sure to stick to a team no matter where he goes. But who knows for sure?

You may get your wish.

The Steelers

don’t need to take a DB in the early rounds…they have McFadden, Gay (Louisville!), and Ike Taylor. Townsend is rapidly aging, but McFadden plays fine when he has to step in. The Steelers, in BOTH the 2009 and 2010 draft, need to seriously think about spending all their picks on OL and DL. The DL (and the backups) are all approaching the end of their careers.

Sorry about the off-topic rant.

They should have done that in the 2008 draft as well...!

but, I always like seeing UK players get drafted by the Steelers…

Believe me, I know where our weakness is (as Big Ben takes another hit)… lol
