This is hilarious. I can't believe a coach actually attempted this defense. Please read the article.

Funny

Man this was a pretty funny article. I wish I could have seen Curry just standing in the corner while his teamates played four on three.

Shameful

I read the article on ESPN. It gives a few quotes from the Loyola coach.

Loyola vs Davidson Recap

“We had to play against an NBA player tonight,” Patsos explained. “Anybody else ever hold him scoreless? I’m a history major. They’re going to remember that we held him scoreless or we lost by 30?”

History won’t remember shit about a regular season game between Loyola and Davidson; and one day Stephen Curry will be a subject of a “Where are they now?” feature wondering about athletes who had a moment of fame.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Oh, chirop,

I couldn’t agree more with this:

"and one day Stephen Curry will be a subject of a "Where are they now?" feature wondering about athletes who had a moment of fame."

That is so true. IMO, Curry is definitely one of those players who will have a wonderful college career. But as far as an NBA career? Well, I just don’t see it.

To stray just a bit from the original topic of the fanshot (btw, it was a crazy story, davw, thanks for finding it) — I actually feel that out of all the possible players of the year that are mentioned in the article (Curry, Hansbrough, Griffin), Blake Griffin will be the only one who has a stellar NBA career. Have you all seen this kid play? Wow, just wow. If I had to pick my favorite player so far this year who was not a Kentucky Wildcat : ) well, this kid would totally be it. I am very impressed with him so far. He is incredibly fun to watch and makes everything look so easy.

Griffin is a STUD in the extreme.

I’m not sure about Curry’s NBA prospects, but I do think Hansbrough will have a solid NBA career. He’s developed his game quite a bit over the last couple of years, adding a nice jumper, to go along with several NBA-level post moves. I love his competitiveness and desire, even though he wears ‘sissy blue.’

Agreed

Griffin is a monster for OU.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Project

For the vast vast majority of college players, even college stars it’s just too hard to prject whether or not they will be a bust in the NBA. The draft is littered with busts every year and those guys are picked by the “experts”. I haven’t seen Curry play enough to have an opinion on the issue but I thought Loyola’s coach was extremely foolish to try this ploy. Not sure the man knows to much about basketball.

Curry will be a great pg in the NBA.

He’ll ride the pine for a couple o seasons but he’ll make a roster and in his renewal season he’ll breakout. He’s too good a shooter and has too much basketball IQ to not make an NBA squad.

Most of the experts pick these kids based on talent. As evidenced by our man Chuck Hayes basketball IQ has a lot to do with staying in the league. Curry has it in spades.

Curry

His body and his game always remind me of Reggie Miller. But I still don’t see him having a lasting NBA career.

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

I don’t think he’s as good as Reggie Miller. (If that makes sense.)
