ESPN's SEC Basketball Preview
Anyone else catch this show? I was so excited to stumble across it, but WOW what a mess. Adrian Branch was previewing Kentucky's upcoming season and was talking about all the experience we'd have returning, said we'd have "Joey Crawford" coming back--I kept hitting back on the dvr seeing if I was just misunderstanding him, but no. I thought maybe he just misspoke and meant Jodie Meeks--since they didn't mention Meeks' name even ONCE which is insane anyway--but the player in the clip playing as he mentioned "Joey" was Derrick Jasper. Who transferred. Sigh. I am not one of the ESPN-haters, but they cannot think that Kentucky basketball fans won't notice this stuff : )
Just thought I'd share in case anyone was in the mood for some "the media hate us!!" angst.

Yeah, I caught that too
Also, apparently Patterson is awaiting some new hardware since was “Co-Player” of the Year, although that slip is a little more understandable.
I watched a bit of the other previews and noticed a number of other similar goofs on other teams, mostly in regards to who was and wasn’t coming back – I think Adrian just needs to take better notes during his prep. ;-)

Heard about it.
Pathetic case of sports journalism malpractice.

As a member of television broadcasters
and an avid SEC supporter I am disgusted. I did’t see the segment but if it is as bad as described that is inexcusable. Lowers the credibility of ESPN and broadcasters in general. That dope should be removed. I would be willing to take one for the team and assume his role so that the viewers of ESPN can get accurate infrormation about the best conference in the nation.
Okay, I got some bias issues to work on but with a new wardrobe and new car I believe I can overcome that obstacle.
In all seriousness, it is a sad commentary when someone is paid to report an accurate analysis of something and fails to communicate to the viewer that information. Instead of an actual team preview it turns out to be a yukfest of errors and misinformation. Truly pathetic.
