New Uniforms, what'cha think about them?

LOL! Those denim uniforms were horrible! I like the new uniforms – especially like the Championship waistband and the blank space reserved for the next one!

As far as I’m concerned, when it comes to uniforms, the more classic and retro-influenced, the better—I hate the Yankees but something like their uniforms are my ideal. So I think these new ones are really great. The more fitted top looks much more stylish, and to me is a good look with the baggier shorts. I was concerned when I heard about the checkerboard pattern, but it is so subtle I think it looks great. I like the black trim too and like kentuckygirl said, you gotta love the Championship waistband and the space for the next one.

Much as I love a more classic uniform, I agree with kentucky_blue: I could certainly put up with the denim atrocity, or those crazy striped shorts, if it meant another championship!

’Nuff said.

Unfortunately, I missed Midnight Madness. Fortunately, it was because I was on vacation in the Smoky Mountains! (Believe it or not, they don’t seem to care about Midnight Madness in east Tennessee in the middle of football season!) Is there a picture of the new unis somewhere I can see?

Oh, and put me in the pro-denim camp. I thought those were kinda cool.

I think they’re the best since the “crazy-striped shorts”, which I thought were really cool. Even though they were more reminiscent of a tiger than a wildcat.

I still love my traditional style Converse ‘97 Ron Mercer uni too, but it’s nice to try something different now and then, and I think they did a good job.

The shoes are pretty cool too, but I also still love the old Nike “Kentucky Dunks”, even if Roger Harden (you have to admire his loyalty) wouldn’t wear them.

I love ’em. Very snazzy!

shorts…not so much. Hopefully we can get some sizing issues worked out before the season starts. I believe it was Krebs’ shorts that went down to his ankles. If the Jeresys are going to be snug, then the shorts shouldn’t be so baggy.

Did anyone see a problem there? Anyway, I like them…they are different in a nice way.

They are different from any other team in basketball…I was a little worried about how the checkered pattern would look, but it is subtle enough not to make them look tacky..I think they’re awesome!!

This is a great honor for a great UK fan/legend. I also dig the championship years on the waistbands.

The checkered pattern is a little to “umbro” soccer shorts for my taste but ultimately if they win games and make a run at both the the SEC and NCAA championships I could really care less what they wear. If the team wins games they could sport blue & white togas and combat boots and I will be screaming my fool head off. :)

I got this after Madness. I had no idea they were suppose to have the checkered background or the championship waist band and they never jumped out at me all. Very subtle… and my apologies about the quality. Its from a camera phone.
