Jasper out 4-6 months

LEXINGTON, Ky. - University of Kentucky point guard Derrick Jasper will be sidelined for four to six months after arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, the school announced today.

Jasper underwent surgery last Friday to clean out loose cartilage in his knee. He is on campus attending summer school, and will spend the remainder of the summer recovering.

He is expected to be ready for the start of practice in October.

Should be just a little hiccup.

that's right. I believe Jasper will be fine come fall, and hopefully will spend lots of time on his shooting form once he can get around on that knee.

The injury bug certainly has bitten us in the off season. I hope this is just getting the bad stuff out of the way early.

I happen to think Jasper is being left out of most people's lineups next year. All the guy did was start nearly every game last year.

He is also the best open court player UK has returning.

I'm excited to see his progress under Billy Gillispie.

I don't get leaving him out, I mean the guy is a great rebounder for his position, a really excellent defender and up until about 3/4 of the way through the season last year, was making great decisions with the ball.

I think he is a starter next year, just not quite sure where ...
