Gillispie locked up...

via espn:

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2817721

The Houston Chronicle, which cited three high-ranking officials both in and close to the A&M system, reported athletic director Bill Byrne and Gillispie have verbally agreed to a deal that would pay him about $2 million annually.

Of course, Gillispie was more closely tied to the Arkansas job, but regardless, looks like he's out for us.

I still firmly believe that we'll land donovan, but if we don't i'm starting to think we will be thoroughly screwed.

I don't think ...
we will be screwed.  There are lots of options.

Do you remember the coaching search that brought Pitino?  It looked dire there after Loot told us to pack sand.  But it wound up fine.

"locked up?"
1) he hasn't signed the deal 2) There's not even a buyout. 3) contract doesn't matter. he was in a contract until 2012 before this new one anyways. it's all about what Gillispie thinks he can accomplish at the various schools. I for one am very afraid. Donovan is about to win back to back championships, and is not likely to leave for a program that hasn't been to the final four this millenium. That leaves Gillispie on a very short list of candidates.
