So we're almost a week A.G.W. (after Gardner-Webb) and the dearth of basketball is killing me. Four games in relatively rapid succession, followed by two weeks with no Cats? This is cruel and unusual punishment! Like Charlie Brown's football, the Billy Gillispie era was put before the BBN, our excitement built, then SWIPE the Gardner-Webb Running Lucies pulled it away!

To add insult to injury, the loss to an inferior opponent has everyone from the mainstream sports media to the blogs of our hated rivals buzzing with glee. (Think of it as Charlie Brown landing on his back and being forced to lay there while Pigpen kicks up a cloud of dust and stench around him.) Our next shot at redemption still looms more than a week away, and it's against... Liberty?!?! Will the torture ever end?

I'm so hoping that news of a Chris Singleton commit breaks the malaise tomorrow, but if he commits to Florida State and not UK, the misery grows. In that case, we can only hope The Loathsome Troll doesn't use that as an impetus to claim that Coach G's recruiting mojo is at an end as well.

Can someone please sneak some footage of a UK practice onto the Net? Or break a story that UK researchers have found a form of radiation that causes Perry Stevenson to morph into The Incredible Hulk when he hears Dave Baker's voice? I'm dying for some positive buzz about the Cats, not more junk about whether or not the GW loss was Tubby's fault.

Tru's done a great job of scraping together what little is out there, and has admirably covered the gridiron Cats in the interim, but I'm like JL... even the new and improved football Cats can't whet my sports appetite like some good old fashioned roundball. Even against the Liberty Flames!
